*Parent or Adult must attend first month of hula with their child
Keiki is the Hawaiian word for child. Our children have hula classes both in El Centro and Brawley, California with future classes coming to Indio, California
One of my students He Pua Laha'ole or "Auntie Pua Laha'ole" works with the children in El Centro and Brawley
Leslie Lara was given the name He Pua Laha'ole by me, Kumu U'ilani and she is affectionally called Auntie Pua by the children out of respect in our Hawaiian family. Pua has been with me for over 6 years. She has embraced hula, my teachings and my lineage with the utmost respect. Due to her passion and respect she was chosen by me to lead our keiki through their beginning stages of hula.

You or an alternate adult are Required to take the first month of hula free of charge. You must understand and learn basic hula steps and the requirements of all students in order for your child to flourish.
You cannot help your child at home if you do not understand yourself.
Once our Na Keiki (children) have learned their basic steps they are taught dances. Na Keiki also learn to say basic Hawaiian words, learn directions and learn to sing and chant in the Hawaiian Language.
Our Keiki have performed all over the Imperial Valley.
Enrolling your child into Hula is a committment and a lifestyle. It is not a hobby like other types of dance, it is a lifestyle, it is our culture, our stories our history. It takes a lot of work and dedication.
